DAFFODILS BLOOMING IN HARRIS RANCH
The yellow flower of the daffodil is an unmistakable sign of spring, and Harris Ranch is in full bloom. Daffodils are annuals in Idaho, blooming in spring and becoming dormant in early summer, providing a bright and beautiful welcome to the changing season. Over the last several years, the Harris Ranch Limited Partnership has funded and planted 80,000 daffodil bulbs in the neighborhood. 20,000 additional bulbs are planned to be planted this year.
Harris Ranch is home to three beautiful daffodil fields in the community, labeled in the map. Daffodils can also be found along many streets and walking paths. We encourage you to take a moment to enjoy their beauty. Happy spring!
COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: LEMON TREE
In just a few shorts years, Lemon Tree Co. has cemented its place in the upper tier of sandwich spots in Boise. Expanding from its perennially packed downtown location, the local favorite recently opened its second location right here in Harris Ranch. Sharing space with The Stil on Eckert, the new Lemon Tree location is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. Unique to the Harris Ranch location is a breakfast menu, which offers up enticing egg sandwiches and more. Among the array of sandwiches, salads, and soups, Lemon Tree Co. offers a full kids’ menu and several options for vegetarian and vegan diets.
Stop in to try some of Boise’s best sandwiches, salads, and handcrafted lemonades (the strawberry basil and prickly pear are fantastic!) and welcome Lemon Tree Co. to the Harris Ranch community!

HARRIS FAMILY DONATES LAND TO BOISE SCHOOL DISTRICT
The family of Dallas Harris recently announced a donation of land to the Boise School District that will soon house his namesake elementary school.
“The Harris Family has planned this gift for a long time and are honored to donate the land for the site of our dad’s namesake elementary school,” said Millie Davis, daughter of Dallas Harris. “Our father’s vision for a vibrant, connected community in east Boise continues to blossom and this elementary school is a key component of that community. We offer our sincere thanks to Boise School District and all that will be involved in bringing this school to life. We know our dad would be grateful for the partnership and hard work that has gone into ensuring our community’s children have access to a top-notch education.”
"We would like to sincerely thank the Harris Family for the land donation that makes the building of Dallas Harris Elementary School possible,” said Dave Wagers, President of the Boise School District Board of Trustees. “We’re excited about the positive impact the new school will have on our students, families and the community.”
The land donation from the Harris family is a gift to the Boise School District to bring one of Dallas’ primary visions for the community to fruition and was not a condition of approval of the Harris Ranch Specific Plan.
Dallas Harris Elementary School is scheduled to break ground this summer and open for the 2023-2024 school year, plans to serve 500+ K-6 students in SE Boise. The school and its playground are located on E Haystack Street, between E Barnside St and Shadywood Way. More details can be found at www.BoiseSchools.org.
